As a designer you are trained to make functional products, or at least products with some sort of a function to it. When I was asked by Modern Design Review to make a decorative accessory for Hem I had to scratch my had a few times to find the true function of a decorative accessory. Somehow a house of cards, a thing that I have been fascinated by for a while now, did strike a few cords when it comes to its absolute uselessness, but also its beauty, vanity and clever mostly temporary, fragile construction. To make the house of cards into a product we created a cheats version where 17 card board panels can slide together into a sturdy construction. The house of cards will be first produced in a limited edition of a hundred pieces all with their own unique color combination and launched at the London Design festival 2019
